The Samsung Galaxy S III is an Android smart phone designed by the 2012 flagship phone of Samsung Electronics. The S III is a touch screen based, slate format smart phone with a significant addition of software features, expanded hardware. Design work on the S III started in late-2010 under the supervision of Chang Dong Hoon, Samsung's Vice President and Head of Design Group of Samsung Electronics. Which Samsung dubs "organic"; consequently, a prospective design should reflect natural elements such as the flow of water and wind. One of the results of this design aim was the curved outline of the phone, which was refined hundreds of times. Its home screen's "Water Lux" effect where taps and slides produce water ripples. Throughout the eighteen months of designing Samsung implemented stringent security measures and design procedures to maintain secrecy of the eventual design until its launch. Designers worked on three prototypes concurrently while regarding each of them as the final product.
